Over the last three weeks, SRUC Oatridge NC Countryside Management have been carrying out practical skills every Friday afternoon improving the safety at Blawhorn Moss applying anti-slip strips to the boardwalk come rain, shine and snow!

People might think we were mad getting the students working in these conditions but with the right frame of mind, the boardwalk was quickly cleared from snow and they worked within a team to drill down the strips. A word from Lecture John McGregor:

Working within conservation doesn’t mean when the weather gets bad we don’t go out, ‘the office’ is 95% outside and the work won’t get done sitting at a desk. You just need that frame of mind to adapt around the elements given to you that day and get the job done. These are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Applying the anti-slip strips is a work in progress and we look forward to hosting SRUC Oatridge again.
