A chance to gaze at the hills and the skies….

‘I lift mine eyes to the hills…’ as the old hymn goes, and this always puts me in mind of the wonderful views of the skies and the mountains around Flanders. Wherever you are on the carse of Stirling, you’ll see hills somewhere, be it the Campsies, the ‘Arrochar Alps’, or the shoulders of Ben Vorlich, Ben Ledi, Ben Lomond and Stuc a Chroin to name but a few and the open bowl of Flanders is a great place to gaze at the hills and heavens both.

Our NNR team are out and about in all seasons and at all times of day (and sometimes night) carrying out their duties. Goose counts are at dawn, deer counts are at night, and all the other site maintenance and species management work happens at some point in between. Thankfully, despite their busy days, the team manage to find time to capture some brilliant images while they are out there.

Here are just a few of these atmospheric images to whet your appetite to head out of doors and find some fantastic sights yourself.
