Blawhorn Moss NNR

Blawhorn Moss NNR is a piece of wild bog landscape hidden away close to Edinburgh.

Bogs are wet places where special wildlife that is specially adapted to these conditions live. But Blawhorn is an easy place to visit with a car park, dry path and boardwalk giving an easy walk onto the moss. If you want to escape the hubbub of the modern world then Blawhorn is a great place to visit with its wild landscape and tranquil atmosphere.

Scottish Natural heritage are working to make Blawhorn Moss a even better place to visit while also restore the bog habitats by making them wetter. This blog will tell of the wildlife found on the site, the work carried out to keep it there and let people see the hidden corners of the special nature reserve. .
